About Me

With an office located in Katonah, New York, Ms. Wennerstrand's work is informed by an understanding of needs and concerns throughout life. 

Ms. Wennerstrand has expertise and experience addressing mental health issues related to trauma, gender, sexuality and relationships utilizing a contemporary, feminist, relational psychodynamic approach. She specializes in treating individuals who experience problems with eating and body image disorders. Her work is informed by a cultural perspective.

Ms. Wennerstrand provides consultation to licensed mental health professionals and organizations, offers engaging workshops, groups and discussions and has published her writing on various topics.

She is a faculty member and supervisor at The Women's Therapy Centre Institute in New York City which offers training to mental health professionals in feminist, relational, psychoanalytic psychotherapy as applied to eating and body image problems and other body-based symptoms.  This training program integrates trauma, feminist, object relations and social theories in its treatment model as well as a critique of the culture and media environment which has caused many people to become increasingly disconnected from their bodies.  Ms. Wennerstrand is a therapist with the Connect & Change project which provides long-term, analytically oriented psychotherapy to victims of domestic violence.  She is also interested in social and new media and is the administrator of the Institute's facebook page.  She also tweets for the Institute @wtcinyc and tweets @annelordwenner.

Ms. Wennerstrand has held clinical positions at the
